This paper examined the relevance and importance of History to the Society. The paper reevaluated the role of history in the society. The research also studied the sources, as well as the nature of history. The study relied heavily on documentary data and lightly on oral data. The oral data were based on newspapers. The documentary data were subjected to textual and contextual analysis. The researcher found out that history is core to development of societies.
